Australia's S&P/ASX 200 opened 44.20 points higher on Sep 22 (Tue), up 0.51% at 8,776.1.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Monday that during routine operations in the "Yellow Line" area an engineering vehicle ran over an explosive device; no personnel were injured. The IDF called the incident a blatant violation of the ceasefire by Hamas and said it struck Hamas infrastructure in response.

Indian refiners are seeking crude for November delivery. After the US last week signed a broad sanctions bill into law, the threat of new punitive tariffs has increased, which could prompt Indian refiners to reduce purchases of Russian crude. India, the world’s third-largest crude buyer, has in recent months imported more than half its crude from Russia to offset high oil prices and ongoing Middle East supply disruptions. Sources say major Indian refiners have begun actively seeking alternative suppliers over the past few days.
