Industry sources told local media TSMC is accelerating expansion of 2nm capacity after major clients — Apple, NVIDIA, AMD, Qualcomm and MediaTek — boosted orders by about 10–20%. Monthly 2nm output could reach roughly 120,000 wafers by year-end, above prior market estimates of 90,000–100,000. TSMC’s original 2027 2nm capacity target is now expected to be met ahead of schedule.

Al Jazeera quoted Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, Iran's army chief of staff, saying the strategically important Strait of Hormuz is "completely under our control." He said Iranian forces have taken decisive action north of the Sea of Oman and in the eastern strait and will not allow passage. Sayyari added the IRGC navy has "full control" west of the strait, the strait itself and the Persian Gulf, while the regular navy has "full control" east of the strait and the northern Indian Ocean.
