Japan’s largest power producer JERA has signed a memorandum with Dell (DELL.N) and UK AI-infrastructure developer RHAELM to create a standardized framework for nationwide AI infrastructure, with the first project sited in Chiba. JERA will provide land adjacent to its Chiba power plant and commit 400MW of power capacity under a 15–25 year agreement. RHAELM will develop, build, operate and finance a hyperscale AI data centre targeted to reach 400MW full capacity in 2029 with phased commissioning from 2028. Dell will supply standardized rack-level AI infrastructure.
