China's total seawater desalination capacity has reached 3.077 mln t/day, the
Ministry of Natural Resources said. Built capacity is 3.077 mln t/day; proposed
and projects under construction exceed 1.0 mln t/day. In July the NDRC, Ministry
of Natural Resources and Ministry of Water Resources issued a Seawater
Desalination Industry Development Action Plan targeting 4.5 mln t/day by 2030,
implying more than 1.5 mln t/day of additional capacity.
