Malaysia's prime minister says the government will reform the worker income framework and set a minimum wage of 2,500 ringgit per month for semi-skilled workers and graduates.

At midday close in China, domestic main futures contracts were mostly higher: methanol up over 7%, coking coal up over 4%, LPG up nearly 4%, polypropylene and plastics up over 3%, and coke, rubber and 20-grade natural rubber up about 3%. Decliners included container-shipping Europe-route futures, down over 5%; Shanghai tin and ethylene glycol (EG) down over 4%; lithium carbonate down over 3%; bitumen down nearly 3%; coated paper and urea down over 2%.

Shanghai International Energy Exchange said, effective at settlement close on 12 Oct 2026, daily price limits for crude oil futures SC2612/SC2701 and low-sulfur fuel oil futures LU2612/LU2701 will be set at 16%. Margin requirements will be 17% for spread positions and 18% for general positions.
