A Hamburg court will open hearings on Oct. 14 (local time) into the 2022 Nord Stream gas pipeline explosions. A Ukrainian national identified as Sergei is charged with co‑planning and carrying out the blasts, accused of attacking civilian infrastructure and of war crimes; this is the first formal trial by German authorities linked to the incident. The court has scheduled 16 hearings from Oct. 14 to Dec. 17, and proceedings are expected to continue into early 2027.
