At a routine press briefing Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said the
viral "China Haul" trend — foreign tourists reportedly arriving with empty
luggage and leaving with large volumes of Chinese goods, and sharing unboxing
videos, with queues at Chinese-brand pop-ups in London and Paris — reflects
China’s industrial vitality and the appeal of its consumer convenience. She said
China will remain open and promote two-way exchanges to let more foreigners
learn about and engage with China.
