At the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit on the morning of Nov. 3, Alibaba Group co-founder and chairman Joe Tsai said AI demand continues to climb and Chinese firms are accelerating model open-sourcing and ecosystem openness, with key metrics such as open-model downloads remaining market-leading. He said only open source can drive widespread adoption and enable a sustainable, inclusive era of intelligence. Tsai noted Alibaba proposed an open-source strategy three years ago; Alibaba Qianwen has open-sourced more than 470 models and cumulative global downloads have topped 4 billion.
