Zhuochuang Info says sow culling accelerates in 2026 Q2–Q3, moving from
low-efficiency toward high-efficiency sows; policy and market forces may extend
the capacity-reduction cycle. Based on its assessment of sow stocks and
productivity, total hog slaughter in 2027 is likely to sit between 2025 and 2026
levels. Monthly supply-demand ratios are expected to decline gradually, with a
larger drop after Q2. Using projected annual slaughter and pork consumption,
Zhuochuang forecasts a 2027 annual average live-hog price of 12.0–12.5 yuan/kg,
a cautiously optimistic outlook.
