Cuba’s Revolutionary Armed Forces said Chief of the General Staff Roberto Legra Sotolongo met US Southern Command commander Donovan on the 29th to discuss security of the boundary area around the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay and agreed to maintain military command-level communications. US Southern Command had earlier posted that Donovan met senior Cuban military leaders near the base and held a brief exchange on military operational safety.

When asked about a blockade on Iran, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent said any lifting of measures would be phased. He outlined three scenarios for Iran: reaching an agreement, failing to reach an agreement, or military action.

Beijing Space Intelligent Computing Research Institute was registered in the Beijing Economic‑Technological Development Area (Yizhuang). The institute will target key common technologies — onboard compute chips, inter‑satellite laser communications, space power and thermal management, integrated space‑ground networks and space security standards — and will build an end‑to‑end service chain covering R&D, pilot verification, on‑orbit testing and commercialization. It plans to complete development and launch of a first test satellite by 2028 and to network multiple test satellites to trial‑operate a space‑ground integrated intelligent computing network.
