MOFCOM said Beijing noted the European Commission’s May 29 discussion on EU‑China relations. It described the EU and China as equal, mutually beneficial economic partners, urged the EU to abide by WTO rules and uphold free trade and fair competition, and warned that if the EU unilaterally deploys new trade tools or discriminatory restrictions, China will adopt resolute countermeasures to safeguard its interests.

A technology commercialization consortium for central state-owned enterprises was launched in Beijing on May 30. Guided by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) and led by National Energy Group, the consortium aims to align with national strategic priorities and accelerate commercialization by promoting deep integration of technological and industrial innovation and creating a one-stop, full-chain technology commercialization service system. All central SOEs are co-builders; the initiative also draws in research institutes, universities, upstream and downstream industry players and innovative private firms.
