An explosion and fire at Hanwha Aerospace's Daejeon plant on June 1 killed five
workers and injured two, police and fire officials said. Authorities suspect a
rocket motor/propulsion unit may have detonated. South Korea's Lee ordered all
available resources mobilised for rescue, a full probe into the cause and
measures to prevent a recurrence. The Daejeon facility produces tactical weapons
and large rocket motors and previously suffered fatal explosions in 2018 and
2019.
