Beijing Taxation Bureau said it has launched China's first online departure
tax‑refund store and opened the city's first centralized hotel tax‑refund
payment points for the hotel sector. Overseas visitors who purchase online can
now complete departure tax refunds at hotels, extending refund coverage beyond
physical stores. The bureau said the measure expands refund scenarios to online
shopping platforms and it is accelerating nationwide mutual recognition of
“buy‑now‑refund‑now” to enable “depart elsewhere, nationwide refund.”
