China’s zero-tariff program for 53 African diplomatic partners, effective May 1–31, 2026, generated over 470 mln yuan of eligible imports through the Guangzhou customs district, customs said. About 380 mln yuan of that value came from 20 partners not classified as least-developed countries, including Libya, South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria and Zimbabwe; tariff reductions exceeded 43 mln yuan.

Russian strikes late on June 1 into the early hours of June 2 killed 18 people in Ukraine — 6 in Kyiv and 12 in Dnipro — and caused power cuts in parts of Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv and Cherkasy, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry said by midday June 2.
