June 5 — Lüliang, Shanxi held a meeting to tighten local responsibility for coal-mine safety, assess current safety conditions and deploy priority tasks. The city ordered implementation of the Lüliang coal-mine safety responsibility implementation checklist (trial) and mandated three tiers of meetings — local authorities, supervisory agencies and company principals — to reinforce warning education, tiered management, clarify responsibilities and key control points, and ensure tasks are executed. Counties must produce action plans; functional departments must enforce the directives at every enterprise and require firms to issue work plans and fulfill tasks. City and county authorities will jointly intensify supervision of checklist and meeting compliance, and use the provincial coal-mine safety risk rectification campaign to resolutely crack down on illegal operators and to investigate and punish dereliction of duty, including public officials who act as “protective umbrellas.”

On the evening of the 6th local time, Iranian Interior Minister Momeni met visiting Pakistani Interior Minister Nakevi. Momeni said the visit will focus on bilateral issues including border security, counternarcotics and counterterrorism, and that both sides agreed to raise annual bilateral trade from $3bln to $10bln. Momeni said Iran welcomes Pakistan’s positive role in easing Iran‑US tensions. Nakevi said Iran and Pakistan have brotherly ties and delivered a special letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader from Pakistan’s army chief Munir and Prime Minister Sharif; he added, I consider this message very important. I hope everything goes smoothly and the crisis ends soon.
