OpenAI said on Thursday it will acquire startup Ona, which supplies secure, preconfigured cloud environments that let AI agents access tools, systems and contextual data. OpenAI said Ona’s tech will enable its programming assistant Codex to run longer-duration tasks and help more organizations deploy agents into production to autonomously perform tasks on users’ behalf. Terms were not disclosed. Ona employees will join OpenAI’s Codex team.
