Seasonally adjusted factory shipments rose 4.2% MoM to C$77.05 bln in April, Statistics Canada said on Monday — the third straight monthly gain and the largest monthly increase in over four years, but below the agency’s 4.6% estimate. Former Israeli ambassador to the US Alon Pinkas said Iran is geopolitically exponentially stronger by mid-June 2026 than on Feb. 28, the day the war began, and that the conflict has altered the regional balance. He warned Iran has "upended the strategic balance," citing attacks on Gulf states and what he described as a wedge inserted between Israel and the US. Pinkas said how the postwar power balance between Iran and Israel evolves is uncertain, but it will "certainly be different from February and less favorable to Israel."

Iranian media Fars News reported Iran will grant vessels a 60-day free transit period, saying the US has accepted a pay-for-transit principle and received only a 60-day concession. After that period expires, Iran plans to monetize commercial transit of the strait by charging for security, navigation, environmental and insurance services and to channel proceeds into the domestic economy.
