On June 18 China's vice president Han Zheng met Canada's industry minister Joly and a delegation of business leaders, saying Beijing is willing to work with Ottawa to implement leaders' consensus, consolidate traditional cooperation and deepen collaboration in new-energy vehicles and artificial intelligence to advance the China-Canada strategic partnership on health, stability and sustainability. Han also met Sorensen, chair of the NOVO NORDISK Foundation and NOVO NORDISK board, saying China will continue to widen high-level opening, build a market-based, rule-of-law, international business environment and support foreign firms, including NOVO NORDISK, to expand operations in China.

Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio said monetary conditions are becoming increasingly severe. He said the U.S. government is currently spending US$7 tln while revenue is about US$5 tln, an overspend of roughly 40%.
