CENTCOM said the action responds to sustained Iranian attacks on merchant shipping, following a U.S. strike yesterday that had been launched in retaliation for Iran’s attack on M/V EverLovely. U.S. aircraft struck Iranian military surveillance and communications sites, air‑defence positions, drone storage facilities and mine‑laying capability.
