SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son said at the SoftBank World conference in Tokyo that nuclear fusion will become a new, cheaper, cleaner and safer primary energy source and could replace natural gas for AI data centers within about 15 years. He said natural gas will still supply most data-center power in the near term but predicted global data-center installed capacity will reach 3 TW by 2040. Around 1400 local time on July 13 Sanaa International Airport was hit by an airstrike. Houthi forces controlling Sanaa accused Saudi Arabia; Yemen’s defense ministry said government forces struck the airport runway to prevent an Iranian aircraft from landing. Sanaa is held by the Houthi movement; the internationally recognized government, backed by Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, is based in Aden.
