Iranian news agency IRNA reported the Iran commodity exchange recorded a single-day inflow of 2,100 kg of silver bars, surpassing the previous 2,000 kg record. The exchange said the volume signals increased liquidity and greater confidence in its silver deposit certificate market. The exchange guarantees bullion authenticity and quality, and under capital market rules gold and silver funds must deposit physical bars or coins into the exchange warehouse proportional to issued fund shares.

The PBOC held its H2 2026 work meeting, instructing a steady deepening of financial reform and opening-up. It said it will actively but prudently expand central-bank currency swap lines and local‑currency settlement cooperation; support and ease foreign institutions’ participation in panda bond issuance; coordinate offshore RMB market development, support Shanghai in boosting cross‑border and offshore financial services and consolidate Hong Kong’s offshore RMB hub role; deepen facilitation of cross‑border trade and investment financing; advance the Cross‑Border Interbank Payment System (CIPS) and international cooperation on cross‑border payments; and enhance cross‑border infrastructure for the digital RMB.

On the 1st (local time) Iranian foreign minister Araghchi held phone calls with Pakistan army chief Munir and Turkey foreign minister Fidan to discuss recent regional developments. Araghchi warned the US military against any risky action, said Iran is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and will respond decisively to any infringement; officials also flagged escalating regional tensions and rising security risks.
