Ukraine's General Staff said on social media on the 13th that Ukrainian forces
struck a large refinery in the Republic of Bashkortostan in Russia's southwest
in the early hours, triggering a fire. The General Staff said the target was
about 1,300 km from the Ukraine–Russia border and said Kyiv would continue
strikes on Russian critical infrastructure to systematically degrade its combat
capability. The refinery was reported to belong to Salavat Petrochemical
Company, described as one of Russia's largest refining and petrochemical
complexes with annual refining capacity of about 10 mln tonnes.
