On the 17th at 00:28 local time the Kurdistan Region Counter-Terrorism Directorate said two explosive‑laden Hadid‑110 drones were launched from the direction of the Iranian border, targeting the Kurdistan Region prime minister’s office and the residence of the Kurdistan Region Security Directorate chief in Pirmam district, Erbil province. The directorate said there were no casualties and vowed to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman BAGHAEI said on the 17th that the US military presence in the region has caused environmental damage amounting to tens of trillions of dollars, a process he characterised as spanning roughly 50 years rather than the past six months or year. He said advanced weapons, repeated exercises and regional wars have inflicted large-scale damage that has worsened over the past two years due to US and Israeli strikes on facilities along the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, and that Iran will prioritise seeking compensation for those losses.
