China's transport ministry said Jan–Jul fixed-asset investment in transportation
totaled 1.8 tln yuan, with road investment 1.2 tln yuan and water transport
125.5 bln yuan. Commercial freight volume was 32.97 bln tonnes, up 2.8% YoY;
road freight 24.98 bln tonnes, +2.9% YoY; inland water freight 4.93 bln tonnes,
+3.0% YoY. Port cargo throughput was 10.56 bln tonnes, up 1.3% YoY; domestic and
foreign trade throughput rose 0.3% and 3.6% YoY respectively. Container
throughput was 210 mln TEU, +5.1% YoY.
