Richard Ho, head of OpenAI's chip business, said the company's new Jalapeno AI processor outperformed NVIDIA (NVDA.O)'s GB300 in internal tests on AI work per watt and response latency. OpenAI said GB300 was the leading product in the public benchmark suite used for comparison. Jalapeno was developed with Broadcom (AVGO.O); the partners announced the collaboration last year and said in June the processor was completed in record time.

UK prime minister Burnham said he and other European leaders plan to travel to the United States in September to press President Trump to release part of the US Patriot air-defence missile inventory to Ukraine before winter. Speaking in Kyiv on Monday evening, Burnham said the trip, timed to the UN General Assembly in New York, is not yet finalised but is likely and that recent talks clarified his agenda for the coming weeks.
