Aug 25, 2026 — China convened a national raw materials industry symposium in Ningbo, Zhejiang, directing the industrial and information authorities to target basic completion of new-type industrialization during the 15th Five-Year period, balance domestic and international conditions and development with security, and pursue high-quality growth driven by reform and innovation. Policy priorities are upgrading traditional industries, accelerating advanced materials innovation, strengthening resource-security measures, and locally tailored cultivation of new productive forces. Authorities called for faster digitalization, green transformation and cross-sector integration to steer the raw materials sector from scale leadership toward comprehensive competitiveness.

Guangdong Customs said Jan–Jul imports and exports from the province's comprehensive bonded zones (including cross-border industrial zones and bonded areas) reached 1.05 trln yuan, up 32.3% YoY, a record for the period and crossing the 1 trln yuan mark two months earlier than last year. With provincial monthly foreign trade exceeding 1 trln yuan for two months, bonded zones contributed 23.3% to Guangdong's foreign trade growth in the first seven months.
