Hong Kong’s Transport Department has invited platform companies to apply for
ride‑hailing operator licences, with the first batch expected to be issued from
as early as end‑November. Caocao is working with Octopus on participating in the
licence application and related arrangements. Licences run up to five years and
carry an annual fee of HK$1.2m. Applicants must be Hong Kong‑registered
companies with resident management and a local office and meet required
operational scale and capital standards.
