LSEG data and market sources show Russia imported nearly 460,000 tonnes of gasoline by sea in August after drone strikes forced outages at major refineries in Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Kirishi and Yaroslavl, triggering regional product shortages. Traders said roughly 370,000 tonnes of those August seaborne fuel arrivals were gasoline, largely sourced from India, Turkey and Morocco and discharged at Russia’s Baltic and Arctic ports. Traders said roughly 370,000 tonnes of those August seaborne fuel arrivals were gasoline, largely sourced from India, Turkey and Morocco and discharged at Russia’s Baltic and Arctic ports. LSEG and market contacts expect at least two more gasoline cargoes totaling about 80,000 tonnes to arrive within a week. Moscow has also eased supply pressure by rail imports from Belarus and Kazakhstan and by banning fuel exports; Deputy Prime Minister Novak said mid‑August Russia has begun importing fuel but gave no volumes or sources. Refinitiv calculates summer fuel demand at about 115,000 tonnes per day.
