Nvidia (NVDA.O) is in advanced talks to acquire AI startup Hugging Face in a deal that could total about $14 bln, sources said. One source said Nvidia could agree as early as this week to buy Hugging Face for about $12.9 bln. The transaction may include an approximately $1 bln employee retention package. Sources cautioned no final agreement has been reached and timing and terms remain subject to change. The deal would be Nvidia’s largest move to date to broaden AI applications and its customer base and would give the company control of a key developer platform for sharing and showcasing AI models.

Odesa military administration chief Lysak reported that the city was struck in a large-scale attack in the early hours of Sept. 2 local time. Eight people were injured, including one child; two wounded have been hospitalized. The strike damaged multiple buildings and facilities, severely hit a 24-storey residential tower with several apartment floors destroyed and surrounding windows blown out, and damaged an office building and two educational institutions.
