The Ministry of Civil Affairs, Central Social Work Department, Ministry of
Finance, National Working Committee on Aging and China Aging Association will
jointly organize the sixth nationwide sample survey of living conditions of
urban and rural elderly. The survey is intended to provide baseline data to
support implementation of China’s national strategy to actively respond to
population aging and to refine related laws, regulations and policies. Topics
include elderly demographics and household composition, health and medical
conditions, caregiving and long-term care services, economic status, livability,
social participation, rights protection and spiritual/cultural life. Data will
be collected by interviewers conducting in-home, one-on-one interviews using a
dedicated app.
