Sept 1 — CENTCOM said U.S. forces have diverted 84 commercial vessels, rendered three inoperable and boarded and inspected two others to enforce a U.S.-imposed maritime blockade of Iran.

Tasnim reported Iran's parliament speaker Ghalibaf warned that if adversaries escalate a maritime blockade to stop Iran exporting oil from the Persian Gulf, Iran would respond militarily and no country would be able to export oil from the region. He said opponents' economic campaign is mainly psychological and that most newly announced sanctions already existed, adding that a maritime blockade constitutes military action under international law.
