Oman and Qatar have held talks on strengthening cooperation in trade, industry
and investment and explored new partnership prospects in multiple
jointly‑focused areas, Oman News Agency reported. Oman has also conducted weeks
of talks with Iran on jointly managing shipping through the strategic Strait of
Hormuz. Qatar acted as a key intermediary between the US and Iran and helped
secure a June memorandum of understanding that briefly paused hostilities; that
agreement has since expired.
