The Baltic Dry Index rose 157 pts (4.7%) to 3,488 on Thursday, reaching a near
five-year high since October 2021 as rates strengthened across vessel classes.
The Capesize index jumped 400 pts (7.1%) to 6,042, its highest since end-2023;
average daily earnings climbed $3,632 to $51,298. Panamax rose 28 pts (1.2%) to
2,457, its highest since May 2026; average daily earnings increased $248 to
$22,113. Ultramax gained 11 pts (0.6%) to 1,668.
