Greek prime minister announced a €2.2 bln package of tax cuts and pay increases to be implemented in 2027.

Al Jazeera quoted a senior Iranian lawmaker and parliamentary National Security Commission spokesman saying Iran had used ballistic missiles to strike a US warship. He said Tehran and Washington are engaged in a "life-or-death" battle, accused US military action of violating international law and warned Iran may change its rules of engagement. He added the blockade should not exist, a memorandum of understanding has lapsed, and that Iran’s president offered to return to talks at the Bishkek summit four days ago but US officials ignored the offer and instead escalated the blockade.

Sept. 5 — Russia's defence ministry said its forces struck a dry-cargo freighter at the port of Chernomorsk in Odesa region carrying Western-supplied military-technical materiel to Ukrainian armed forces. It also said strikes hit a Boryspil facility in Kyiv region that produces ammunition and explosives for Ukraine's security forces.
