China's foreign exchange reserves stood at $3,438.3 bln at end‑August 2026, up
$19.5 bln (0.57%) from end‑July, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange
said. SAFE attributed the rise to a weaker dollar amid global macro data and
policy expectations, combined exchange‑rate translation effects and divergent
global asset‑price moves. Authorities said steady, modestly improving Chinese
economic activity underpinned the reserves' basic stability.
