India has launched an online platform to connect domestic exporters with US buyers as New Delhi aims to lift bilateral trade to $500 billion by the end of the decade. The move comes amid ongoing India-US trade negotiations, whose broad framework was agreed earlier this year. Despite punitive tariffs under the Trump administration and India’s efforts to diversify export markets, the US remains a primary destination for Indian exports. India’s Consul General in New York, Binaya Pradhan, said the portal will enable goods and services exporters — including SMEs and first-time exporters — to connect with US retailers such as Amazon, Walmart and Costco.
