Yemen's Houthi rebels said they launched multi-front operations on Sept. 3 aimed
at expelling Saudi forces from parts of Yemen's western coast. They claimed to
have driven Saudi forces from six districts in Taiz and Hodeidah provinces,
covering about 5,400 sq km; struck seven Saudi military formations involving 38
brigades; freed personnel held for years by Saudi-aligned mercenaries; and
conducted 32 interceptions of Saudi warplanes, claiming nine aircraft shot down.
The Houthis said maritime navigation is safe for all companies except
Saudi-flagged vessels and vowed to maintain a "blockade-for-blockade" policy,
striking Saudi forces and escalating in response to further Saudi actions until
the aggression stops and any blockade is lifted.
