Yemeni sources said on the 12th that 73 vessels transited the Bab al-Mandeb in the past 48 hours, equivalent to 98.6% of the average daily volume before the Houthi maritime embargo on Saudi Arabia on July 20. They said international vessels other than Saudi ships are being allowed through and transit is "safe and smooth", broadly near normal levels.

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said in an interview on the 13th that a meeting in Oman on the 14th will focus on a new maritime corridor inside the Strait of Hormuz. Iran will present details of the agreement with Oman and a route map. Araghchi said the agreement does not mean the Strait will reopen; reopening would require the US to fulfill commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
