China published a plan to develop Zhongguancun into a world-leading science
park, targeting a basically completed, world-leading park by 2030. The plan aims
for sustained emergence of globally leading technologies and flagship products,
formation of world-class industry clusters with technological leadership, and
positioning Zhongguancun as an origin of new industry tracks, a hub for
world-class firms, a top global investment destination and a high-level talent
center. It calls for concentrated industrial agglomeration, active open
innovation, efficient institutional mechanisms, improved infrastructure and a
high-quality environment.
