Beijing, Sept 18, 2026 — Vice Minister Liao Min met Kenya Treasury Principal Secretary Kipto to discuss China-Kenya relations and fiscal, financial and investment cooperation. Attendees included China Development Bank Vice President Wang Kebing, Export-Import Bank Vice President Wang Kang, Kenya Deputy Transport Minister Mohammed Daghar, Deputy Roads Minister Joseph Mbugua, Deputy Water Minister Julius Korir and Kenyan Ambassador to China Willy Bett.

When asked about the Saudi-Houthi conflict, Turkey's foreign minister said Ankara has conveyed a proposal to all parties to end the war.

On the evening of Sept. 19, Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said Tehran has presented seven conditions the US must meet to open negotiations. Rezaei said Qatar, acting as mediator, has conveyed the conditions to Washington and is awaiting a response from President Trump. He said Iran’s demands include an end to all US hostilities against Iran, unfreezing Iran’s frozen assets and lifting a maritime blockade; Tehran’s message is that the US has no way out except by accepting these terms if it seeks to avoid deeper entanglement.
