G7 foreign ministers on Monday urged Iran to stop supplying weapons and support to Yemen’s Houthi movement, calling it a dangerous pattern of escalation that could undermine international trade and global stability. After meetings during the UN General Assembly, the foreign ministers of the UK, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the US said: "We strongly condemn the Houthi group's unacceptable attacks in Yemen and against Saudi Arabia." They called on the Houthis to immediately cease all military action, stop threats and attacks on civilian shipping, and return in good faith to the political process.
