Counterpoint Research forecasts global smartphone shipments priced below $200
will fall by more than 230 million units between 2025 and 2030. Overall
smartphone shipments are expected to recover to 2025 levels by end-2030, but the
sub-$200 segment is forecast to be about 40% smaller than in 2025; entry-level
devices will contract more sharply. Counterpoint cites rising component costs
and higher minimum configuration requirements as factors compressing the
low-price device market.
