The International Aluminium Institute (IAI) said global primary aluminium production in September 2026 was 6.014 mln tonnes, down from 6.10 mln tonnes a year earlier and below the prior-month revised 6.188 mln tonnes. Daily output averaged 200.5 kt/day in September versus the prior-month revised 199.6 kt/day. IAI estimated China's September primary aluminium output at 3.75 mln tonnes, down from the prior-month revised 3.87 mln tonnes.
