China domestic futures main contracts closed mixed in the morning session: caustic soda and apples fell over 4%, palladium down nearly 4%; platinum, lithium carbonate, coke, Shanghai silver, alumina and glass fell more than 2%. On the upside, styrene (EB) rose over 2%, while methanol and stainless steel (SS) were up nearly 2%.

The General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued guidance to accelerate deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, endorsing local pilot programs. Key measures: support localities to run early pilot reforms in national high‑tech industrial development zones and national independent innovation demonstration zones; strengthen macro guidance on tech and industrial layout and push regions to build technology specializations aligned with local endowments; enhance central‑local coordination by creating shared central and local tech funding and linked implementation mechanisms for major tasks; deepen cross‑regional collaborative innovation and coordinate development of distinct science‑and‑industry functional zones. The guidance also promotes pilot reforms in international and regional tech innovation centers and eligible localities, launches actions to stimulate industrial innovation vitality, and aims to develop more dynamic innovation cities and original innovation sources.

Hang Seng TECH Index fell below 4,000, currently down 1.22%, its weakest level since October 2024.
