China Association of Automobile Manufacturers vice chairman and
secretary-general Fu Bingfeng said at the 2026 China Auto Supply Chain
Conference that shifting geopolitics and regional trade protectionism have
severely disrupted auto supply-chain stability. He said that at the start of the
'15th Five-Year' period maintaining volume and improving quality is the
development theme and urged industry and firms to prioritize breakthroughs in
key core technologies—vehicle-grade chips, in-vehicle operating systems,
solid-state batteries, new electronic/electrical architectures and basic
industrial software—to shore up supply-chain security. He also called for deeper
integration of electrification, intelligence and green development, stronger
OEM-supplier coordination and cross-sector cooperation, and co-innovation
between vehicle makers and domestic and foreign core suppliers to boost industry
resilience and innovation efficiency.
