Nikkei reports Japan wants US tech companies to share undisclosed software vulnerabilities as risks rise.

At an earnings briefing, Hugui Industry said its planned 300mm wafer capacity of 1.2 million wafers/month is progressing smoothly and will be completed by year-end, with production to be brought online progressively. Its 300mm SOI unit remains in customer qualification, capacity ramp and volume expansion. 300mm SOI products target silicon photonics, RF and high-voltage applications, with silicon photonics showing the fastest uptake. SOI wafers remain a small share of the global silicon materials industry but are indispensable in certain end markets.
