SK海力士正考慮將之前完全委託給臺積電的基礎芯片生產，部分外包給英特爾代工，以豐富供應商體系： 1、從HBM4E開始，該公司將引入英特爾代工部分HBM基礎裸片，與臺積電形成雙供應商體系，以降低對臺積電的依賴，並增強成本與價格談判能力。 2、HBM基礎裸片就是最底層的“總控芯片”，負責管理上層內存，並高速連接GPU/CPU。 3、業內估算，HBM4基礎裸片成本約爲上層DRAM核心裸片的3—4倍，HBM4E成本或進一步上升；同時HBM大量採用長期供貨協議，代工成本上漲難以及時向客戶轉嫁。 4、若英特爾加入供應鏈，SK海力士可同時提升成本競爭力和供應穩定性。隨着HBM4進入“定製HBM”時代，基礎裸片需針對不同AI加速器定製，供應鏈多元化的重要性進一步上升。雙方合作未來還可能延伸至先進封裝，SK海力士已在評估臺積電CoWoS與英特爾EMIB方案。
