Ukrainian authorities said a Russian airstrike on the Zaporizhzhia region in the early hours of the 10th killed 20 people and wounded 32. The strike occurred at 04:48 and used precision-guided aerial bombs, officials said. Ukrainian President Zelenskiy said on Oct. 10 he held calls that day with Finland President Stubb, French President Macron, Norwegian Prime Minister Støre and UK Prime Minister Burnham, urging increased support for Ukraine and tougher sanctions on Russia. He briefed them on the conflict, discussed challenges from the U.S. easing of sanctions on Russian oil products, and coordinated response measures and plans for follow-up meetings.
