Samsung Electronics could distribute about 40 trillion won ($26.6 billion) in bonuses to semiconductor employees this year after reaching a last-minute agreement with labor unions to avoid a strike. Samsung’s chip division employs about 78,000 people, with average payouts estimated at 513 million won per worker based on proposed terms and projected 2026 operating profit.
