UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said on the 3rd that intensifying Lebanon–Israel
border fighting is driving a surge in internal displacement. About 200,000
people in Beirut’s southern suburbs have fled after evacuation orders by Israeli
forces. Refugee camps are overcrowded and in dire conditions. Fighting has
severely damaged local medical services and healthcare put workers’ safety at
risk.
